Mr Obama, will you be stopping
for tea, if you visit Pakistan?
Since his inauguration as
President of the United States of America, Barack Obama has made serious
efforts to ingratiate himself even further with groups that would be very
antagonistic towards Christian attitudes that are based on the teachings of
Holy Scripture. Two such groups would be the ‘pro-abortion’ lobby and the ‘gay marriage’ lobby.
In relation to ‘abortion’ the
article on this link http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=96454
documents the distressing details of the first 100 days of Mr Obama being in
The White House.
In relation to ‘things gay’ Mr Obama
issued a proclamation making June 2009 ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month’ and full
details can be accessed on http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Presidential-Proclamation-LGBT-Pride-Month/
This follows Mr Obama’s
appointment in April of a leading homosexual ‘Christian’ activist, Harry Knox,
to be a member of his faith-based council. Details of this can be seen on http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=479808
Earlier in February Mr Obama had
appointed a black gay man called Fred Davie to the same council as you can read
on http://rodonline.typepad.com/rodonline/2009/02/obama-appoints-black-gay-man-to-faithbased-initiatives.html
Keeping just these few examples
in mind it really does show just how spurious Mr Obama’s recent claim in Cairo
that ‘I am a
Christian’ truly is. I examined this Obama ‘I am a Christian’ claim in
a recently posted article on http://rodonline.typepad.com/rodonline/2009/02/obama-appoints-black-gay-man-to-faithbased-initiatives.html
In that speech Mr Obama also made
this statement
I
have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims
around the world… one based upon the truth that America and Islam… share common
principles - principles of justice and
progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.
This brings me to the title of
this article and in particular to Mr Obama’s approach to Islamic Pakistan.
Pakistan is viewed by Western powers as being a key ally in the fight against
Islamic extremism. For that reason Mr Obama has gone out of his way as
President to promise huge sums of money to Pakistan. On the following link we
read details of aid promised by President Obama in early April 2009.

There must be sense of relief among South Block mandarins over the new US policy on Pakistan-Afghanistan which was unveiled by President Obama after weeks of deliberations. The policy which wields a stick and a carrot, promises to deal with terrorism with a heavy hand and at the same time release funds for the development of Pakistan’s border region because poverty is seen as one of the reasons for breeding terrorism. Pakistan has been promised more than one billion worth of aid annually for the next five years to set up hospitals and schools and build roads, but warned at the same time that it would not be a blank cheque and it will have to be serious in rooting out jihadism from its soil.
America, as an oft-proclaimed champion of ‘civil rights’, has for decades now claimed to recoil from any abuses based upon race, colour, religion, sexual orientation etc. The very election of Mr Obama himself is seen as the ultimate climax of the righting of ‘civil rights’ wrongs that were so prevalent in America – the banishing of the ‘whites only’ segregation mentality to the dustbins of history.
My challenge to Mr Obama is this – in the light of his ‘I
am a Christian’ declaration in Cairo and his view that America and Islam ‘share principles of justice and progress; tolerance and
the dignity of all human beings’ is he
prepared to withhold that promised aid and put pressure on the authorities in
Pakistan to rid that nation of the
deadly injustice and intolerance towards, and the robbery of dignity and even
life from, Christians living there. I issue this challenge in the light of the
following diabolical and disturbing report in The Asia Times on
June 16, 2009
A Christian man was stoned to death in Pakistan for drinking tea from a roadside stall designated for Muslims. According to International Christian Concern (ICC) the man, Ishtiaq Masih, had ordered tea at a stall in Machharkay village, Punjab, Pakistan, after his bus stopped to allow passengers to relieve themselves. When Ishtiaq went to pay for his tea, the owner noticed that he was wearing a necklace with a cross and grabbed him, calling for his employees to bring anything available to beat him for violating a sign posted on the stall warning non-Muslims to declare their religion before being served. Ishtiaq had not noticed the warning sign before ordering his tea, as he ordered with a group of his fellow passengers. Witnesses claim the owner and 14 of his employees beat Ishtiaq with stones, iron rods and clubs, and stabbed him multiple times with kitchen knives as Ishtiaq pleaded for mercy. The other bus passengers intervened and took Ishtiaq to the Rural Health Center in the village. Ishtiaq died as a result of spinal, head, and chest injuries. The doctor who took Ishtiaq's case told ICC that Ishtiaq had excessive internal and external bleeding, a fractured skull, and brain injuries.
A correspondent from the ICC confirmed that he saw a warning posted outside the tea stall, which read: "All non-Muslims should introduce their faith prior to ordering tea. This tea stall serves Muslims only."
Sadly this is the type of incident, where Christians are
specifically targeted by Muslims, that receives no coverage from the
politically-correct media in the Western World – media that are bowing and
scraping to Islam whilst at the same time riding rough-shod over anything
remotely Christian – the recent BBC appointment of a Muslim to be head of
religious broadcasting is just one such example.
Close analysis of for example the main BBC news bulletins for
Saturday 20th June 2009 would to any right-thinking person show just
the sort of contribution that Islam is making to world affairs and yet no one
in the BBC appears willing to put their head above the parapets and draw the
obvious conclusions about the true nature of bloodthirsty Islam. The 4 leading
news items were as follows –
1.
The remains of 2 British hostages handed over to the
authorities in Baghdad.
2.
Over 50 people killed by a car bomb in Kirkuk in Iraq.
3.
At least 10 killed in riots in Tehran.
4.
Another British soldier killed in a bomb blast in
Afghanistan.
What have these items in common? – Islam –
where Mr Obama are the supposed ‘principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of
all human beings’.
The name of Ishtiaq Masih will
mean nothing to those who walk the corridors of power either in London or
Washington but the God of Heaven, who knows when even a sparrow falls to the
ground, knows all things.
In conclusion, I simply ask Mr Obama, if
or when you visit Pakistan, will you as a professing ‘Christian’ be stopping
for tea at the same stall in Machharkay village, Punjab, Pakistan?
Meantime we commit the family of
the late Ishtiaq
Masih to the prayers of God’s people.
